SEEING SPRAY VACCINATION IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT

Spray-Vac Spectrum® Poultry Spray Vaccine Stabilizer

Seeing Spray Vaccination in a Whole New Light

Spray-Vac Spectrum® from Animal Science Products combines poultry spray vaccine stabilization with a proprietary dye designed around the unique visual sensitivity of birds.

The formulation is designed to protect reconstituted and diluted spray vaccines while making vaccine droplets more visible to poultry. By encouraging preening activity after spray vaccination, Spray-Vac Spectrum is designed to support vaccine uptake and more uniform flock exposure.

Vaccine Stabilization • Enhanced Droplet Visibility • Increased Preening Activity

Two Levels of Support for Poultry Spray Vaccination

Protecting the Vaccine

Water quality can affect the stability of live poultry vaccines during preparation and administration.

Spray-Vac Spectrum is formulated to stabilize ordinary tap water or well water used for spray vaccination. Its stabilizing properties are designed to address chlorine, pH imbalance, and electrolyte conditions that can compromise sensitive vaccine preparations.

The formulation is engineered for poultry spray vaccines, including fragile bronchitis and mycoplasma vaccines.

Making Vaccine Droplets More Visible

Poultry perceive light differently from humans, with sensitivity extending across a broader range of wavelengths.

Spray-Vac Spectrum incorporates a proprietary dye developed around these differences in avian vision. The dye is designed to make vaccine droplets more noticeable across a range of natural and artificial lighting conditions.

Greater droplet visibility encourages preening behavior, which can increase contact with vaccine-containing droplets following spray application.

Why Poultry See Spray Vaccination Differently

The Science of Avian Spectral Sensitivity

Poultry have specialized visual systems that allow them to perceive a broader range of light wavelengths than humans.

ASP's technical literature describes poultry sensitivity across approximately 350–750 nanometers, compared with the commonly described human visible range of approximately 400–700 nanometers.

Spray-Vac Spectrum uses a proprietary dye designed to transmit light across the avian visual range, with particular emphasis on wavelengths near the upper and lower ends of that range.

Why Preening Matters

Spray vaccination exposes birds through the eyes and respiratory tissues. Preening provides an additional route of contact with vaccine droplets deposited on the feathers.

By making those droplets more visible, Spray-Vac Spectrum is designed to stimulate preening activity and encourage contact with the applied vaccine.

Designed for Different Lighting Conditions

The spectral properties of Spray-Vac Spectrum are intended to support droplet visibility under different poultry lighting programs, including natural daylight, fluorescent, incandescent, HID, and LED lighting.

Spray-Vac Spectrum Application and Preparation

Supporting Effective Poultry Spray Vaccination

Proper vaccine preparation and water quality are important considerations in poultry spray vaccination programs.

Spray-Vac Spectrum is formulated for use with poultry spray vaccines, combining water stabilization with a proprietary dye designed to enhance vaccine droplet visibility.

Key Application Considerations

  • Water Quality: Chlorine, pH imbalance, and other water conditions can affect the stability of live vaccines.

  • Vaccine Preparation: Follow the vaccine manufacturer's instructions for reconstitution and administration.

  • Spray Application: Use properly maintained and calibrated spray vaccination equipment.

  • Product Dosage: Follow the current Spray-Vac Spectrum product label and technical specifications for mixing instructions.
