Nacogdoches, Texas – Animal Science Products, Inc., a global leader in animal health and nutritional additives, is proud to announce that it has safely operated its Nacogdoches-based manufacturing facility for 1,460 days without any Loss Workday Injuries (LWI). This represents a new company accolade of four consecutive years and over 310,500 man hours with zero LWIs.
To mark the anniversary (officially occurring on November 26), ASP hosted a celebration at its Nacogdoches headquarters on November 28. In attendance was Nacogdoches Mayor Roger Van Horn, Sonny Scarborough with Marketplace Ministries (a non-denominational worksite support group), and members of local fire and police. John Sullivan of Sullivan Insurance was also on hand and presented an award to ASP recognizing its four years without a lost time accident.
This accomplishment betters ASP’s previous record of three straight years without any LWI, with the last lost workday injury occurring on November 25, 2007. Bailey Reynolds, ASP President, accredits this to ASP’s focus on maintaining the highest levels of employee safety. “We all are very proud of the manner in which our team works. Over the past four years, they have consistently met the needs of our customers while operating both safely and responsibly,” says Reynolds. ASP’s commitment to workplace safety is led by Mike McCaffrey, ASP Safety & Shipping Director. The ASP staff is encouraged to take part in the effort through year-round safety programs that reward employees at the end of each quarter without LWIs. Prizes include gift cards, electronics, and even pre-paid vacations. Mike is very proud of the results these programs have created, and even notes, “Not only have we achieved this new LWI record, but we have gone 805 days without an OSHA Recordable Injury. As a Safety Professional, I think this is even more impressive.”
As ASP looks to the future, it will continue its emphasis on employee safety and building upon these four years of successfully working accident-free.
