Over the past three months, several members of the ASP team and I spent quite a bit of time traveling to visit customers. As with every trip I make, I learned more than anticipated. I am always amazed how after nearly 30 years in the business I can still be asked questions about issues that previously never even crossed my mind. That is exactly what happened recently while we were calling on potential customers. The gentleman wanted to know if we could help him with a problem he was experiencing with his ocular-delivered vaccines. The issue dealt with the tension strength of the droplets. The entire discussion with this customer dealt with points that had not previously occurred to us, but were real issues that needed to be addressed to assist him in achieving maximum immunization and ultimately protecting his flocks.
Yes, we have begun to research the issue brought to our attention by this gentleman, but the real point is not the issue – it’s the opportunity. Opportunities like this one exist in all areas of our industry, but it takes communication and working together to discover and maximize them. By sharing our challenges, we all use our strengths to build a stronger industry that serves our ultimate customers with wholesome, safe and affordable food. After all, isn’t feeding the world what agriculture is all about?
