Calibration
Ingredient scales in our production facilities are calibrated annually or more frequently if they have been subjected to maintenance. Maintenance and calibration are performed by independent technicians, licensed and specializing in scale equipment repair and calibration. A calibration certificate is affixed to each scale and is available for inspection by production managers or customers visiting our plant.
Scale Variance
Our automated production equipment sets a target ingredient weight based on our “blueprint” specification. Each ingredient is added continually until the target is reached, and production cannot continue if the target is not met. Our computer compares the actual scale quantity to the target and records the variance, if any. Statistical process control charts are created from the reports and our production managers review them daily to identify anomalies and safeguard quality and consistency.
